Season series: The Colorado Avalanche swept two games from the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2013-14. Gabriel Landeskog had three goals for the Avalanche, two of them in a 3-2 victory at Columbus on April 1.

Blue Jackets team scope: Columbus is playing the second half of back-to-back games after losing 6-3 to the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday. The Blue Jackets led 2-1 in the second period before allowing five unanswered goals to the Coyotes. Columbus allowed Arizona to score on three consecutive power plays in a span of 18:30 in the second and third periods. Starting goalie Sergei Bobrovsky was lifted after allowing six goals on 31 shots. The loss in the Blue Jackets' first game in January came after they went 10-1-1 in December. "We get a chance [Sunday] night," forward Jack Skille told the Blue Jackets website. "We have to regroup, and find a way to keep climbing."

Avalanche team scope: Colorado is going for a sweep of its three-game homestand after topping the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 in overtime on Wednesday and defeating the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 in a shootout on Friday. Center Matt Duchene, who has gone nine games without a non-shootout goal, and forward Alex Tanguay each scored in the shootout, giving Colorado its fifth consecutive shootout victory. "It was a good game for us. We needed the [extra] point desperately," Tanguay said after practice Saturday. "[Friday] night we played better, and hopefully it will continue [Sunday]. We need wins."
