Avalanche acquires Talbot, re-signed three others

The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has acquired forward Julian Talbot from the St. Louis Blues organization and also re-signed forwards Philippe Dupuis and Kevin Porter, along with defenseman Ray Macias, each to a one-year contract. The Avalanche on Friday confirmed the hiring of Kirk McLean, who won 245 games in an NHL career that spanned 16 seasons, as the team's goaltending consultant.

For the first time since the rebirth of the Central Hockey League in 1992, the Tulsa Oilers are affiliated with a National Hockey League team. Oilers head coach Bruce Ramsay announced the Oilers have reached an affiliation agreement with the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL and the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League.
