Es sind nur mehr 3 Wochen bis zum Trainings-Camp der Colorado Avalanche, und 2 Schlüsselspieler der Avs haben noch keinen neuen Vertrag erhalten und bleiben im Status „Restricted Free Agent (RFA)“ (Freier Spieler). The Avalanche on Friday confirmed the hiring of Kirk McLean, who won 245 games in an NHL career that spanned 16 seasons, as the team's goaltending consultant.

The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has signed restricted free-agent forward Chris Stewart to a two-year contract through the 2011-12 season (5,75 mil. USD).

For the first time since the rebirth of the Central Hockey League in 1992, the Tulsa Oilers are affiliated with a National Hockey League team. Oilers head coach Bruce Ramsay announced the Oilers have reached an affiliation agreement with the Colorado Avalanche of the NHL and the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League.

The Avalanche today traded forward T.J. Hensick to the St. Louis Blues, for prospect forward Julian Talbot. The Avs also signed players Kevin Porter, Ray Macias and Phillipe Dupuis to new deals. More info soon.
