Landeskog gained 3 points and left Sweden
Gabriel Landeskog has decided to not extend his "lockout contract" with the Djurgarden team of the 2-tier Swedish league. He has left Sweden and traveled to Denver, Colorado. Adrian Dater reports several reasons behind Landeskog´s decision to quit his short European experience.
Firstly, Landeskog bought new and his first house in Denver before his departure to Europe. Probably, he would like to enjoy more his new property. Secondly, Swedish media talks about the local tax. Landeskog spent there many days recently. More extra days would mean the increasing of tax for him. More days there, higher costs. Finally, there is the option that Gabriel will re-join his former junior team Kitchener Rangers of the OHL and will practice there. Landeskog will definitely stay in North America for the rest of the lockout.

Landeskog is the first Avalanche player who had the contract somewhere during the lockout and has decided to come back to Colorado. For now, Matt Duchene plays for the Frolunda of the Swedish elite league, injured Semyon Varlamov plays in the KHL for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, Paul Stastny plays in the top German league for Munich and more recently, Ryan O´Byrne has signed the lockout contract with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.
We will write the final recap of his career in the following days.
