Radulov is in New York, solving contract

Fans who have been following Alexander Radulov’s career clearly know how complicated is his character and how unexpected is his behavior. The list of his controversial decisions would be a too long for this story. According to the Russian newspaper sovsport.ru, we can add there one new item. The media reported Radulov didn’t show up at the scheduled medical tests yesterday prior the World Championship. The tournament will be organized by Russia in the next month.
For the most of Russian hockey players including the Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov is prestigious to play in front of the home crowd at the international level. For Radulov, it probably isn’t quite big business. He hasn’t let know to anybody from the team staff and simply disappeared. He has appeared in New York City where he is solving his future – probably talking to some NHL teams‘ representatives. The Russian paper didn’t disclosure name of the teams.
Even the Russian federation made a statement on Radulov’s recent actions when they said the rules are valid for everyone and that it should be an honor to represent Team Russia. Russian media are mad on Radulov and compared his situation with other players. For example, Alexander Ovechkin played at the World Championship with a broken leg. Andrei Markov won’t play there this year, but has apologized because he would like to stay with his newborn daughter – Russian executives have no problem with that. But Radulov hasn’t contact anybody and the local media believes he has shown a big disrespectful like never before.
