According to multiple sources, Eurolanche can confirm the former Colorado Avalanche player, Marek Svatos, has died.

According to the recent informantion, Marek died on Saturday in Denver, where he lived with his US wife and two children.

As other Slovak media already published it, there is a "drug (medicine) overdose" information regarding Marek Svatos' death. 

Marek Svatos' death was an accident, family-related source confirmed to Eurolanche.com.

Colorado Avalanche Executive Vice President/General Manager Joe Sakic released the following statement. "The entire Avalanche organization is extremely saddened by this news. Marek was a tremendous person, a talented hockey player and a great teammate. Our thoughts, prayers and our deepest sympathy to his wife, children and his entire family."
