Eurolanche enters its 11th season
A preview of Eurolanche’s 2017-18 season.The first European and the biggest fan club of the Colorado Avalanche enters its 11th season. The Eurolanche Fan Club will offers its members various activities and also continue to cover Avalanche hockey on its main website. “We can already consider the first three activities planned by Fan Club during the 2017-18 season as significant. We’re organizing a trip to Sweden for the double game between Colorado and Ottawa named Eurolanche Raid 2017, with more than 50 members participating in it. In February and March, we’ll return to the US for the tenth time as part of the Eurolanche Invasion X. Moreover, the book about Eurolanche’s first ten years will be published in the near future. It’s going to be a great season,” said Eurolanche Founder and President David Puchovsky.
The first event, as was already mentioned earlier, will be the Eurolanche Raid 2017, which will take place between November 8 and November 12, 2017. The trip to Sweden to the Avalanche’s first-ever NHL games in Europe was announced shortly after the league officially announced the event. Eurolanche members had the chance to buy game tickets among the very first. More than 50 Fan Club members from 10 countries and two continents will take part in the trip. Dozens of other Eurolanche members, who will travel to Sweden individually, will also be present at the games. On the occasion of the event and the games themselves, Eurolanche created a new website – GlobalSeries.Eurolanche.com, the content of which will be updated leading up, during and after the event.
During the Eurolanche Raid 2017, the Fan Club will unveil a book about its first decade titled ’10 years of the Eurolanche Fan Club – The story of devoted European Colorado Avalanche fans and how they made it all the way to the Pepsi Center’. The book will be available in both Slovak and English. In late Februrary and early March 2018, the Fan Club will organize its tenth Eurolanche Invasion, with the participants being five Eurolanche members from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Finland. The group will attend five Avalanche home games at the Pepsi Center and two away games in Chicago and Columbus. The group will spend the majority of the trip in the state of Colorado, while also spending parts of the trip in three other US states. Thanks to Invasion X, the number of attended games during Eurolanche Invasions will surpass 60. Like in the past, complete coverage from Invasion X will be available at Invasion.Eurolanche.com.
Eurolanche will continue to use graphics and logos commemorating its 10th anniversary, which Fan Club members celebrated at the anniversary meeting in August 2017 in Slovakia, until the end of 2017. The Story.Eurolanche.com website will be updated with more articles and content as part of the 10th anniversary series until the end of the year.
The Eurolanche League will continue with its eight installment during the 2017-18 season. As always, bettors will have the chance to win various prizes at the end of the season. Premium prizes will be available to Eurolanche’s most active members, who are members of the Yeti Ultras group created at the occasion of the Fan Club’s 10th birthday. Part of the preliminary program during the new season is a member meeting in the Czech Republic in early 2018.
The editing staff of Eurolanche.com will continue to cover the Colorado Avalanche and everything around the organization, publishing three articles per day. Summaries, match previews, commentaries, analyses, news, farm reports and the Fan Club’s popular own exclusive interviews will once again be part of the coverage. Readers of Eurolanche.com will also have the opportunity to rate all Avalanche players after each game yet again. The results of the player ratings will be presented as part of the Eurolanche Awards 2018 at the end of the season.
As of October 1, 2017, Eurolanche had 783 registered members from 43 different countries and six continents. During 10 years of existence, the Fan Club organized nine Eurolanche Invasions to the US, with 54 members from eight countries taking part in the project and attending a total of 56 Colorado Avalanche games. Furthermore, the Fan Club has organized nine member meetings and meetings with Avalanche players in Europe. During the aforementioned period, Eurolanche published more than 10 000 articles on its websites, organized dozens of competitions for souvenirs, published dozens of exclusive interviews and made more than a hundred appearances in both North American and European media, while also being cited as a news source numerous times.
