Landeskog's OT tally lifts Avs past Duck

Teemu Selanne scored a power-play goal with 3:52 left in the third
period to tie the game 2-2 and pass his idol, Jari Kurri, into sole possession of 19th place on the NHL all-time
scoring list with 1,399 points. Selanne also passed Kurri to become the NHL's
all-time leading scorer from Finland.
"I couldn't be more proud that Teemu is the all-time
top NHL scorer from Finland,"
Kurri said in a statement released by the Ducks. "Congratulations to a great player, a great friend and an even
better person."
Selanne
was in the right faceoff circle when he ripped a shot over sprawling goalie Semyon Varlamov 16 seconds after
Colorado's Shane O'Brien went off
for interfering with Jason Blake.
Ducks
goalie Jonas Hiller kept the game
tied 35 seconds later when he robbed Ryan
O'Reilly with a glove save on a clean breakaway.
Kevin Porter put the Avalanche in front 2-1 with 6:47 to play with
his first goal since Dec. 29. Cody
McLeod chased down the puck into the left corner and passed it back to
defenseman Jan Hejda. He took a shot
from the left point and Porter deflected it through traffic.
Varlamov
was keeping the Avalanche in front until, with 2.5 seconds left in the second
period, Ducks defenseman Francois
Beauchemin scored from the edge of the crease to forge a 1-1 tie.
Avalanche
defenseman Ryan O'Byrne turned the
puck over deep in Colorado ice to the Ducks' Cam Fowler. He took a shot, Bobby
Ryan got his stick on the puck and Beauchemin chipped it into the net.
The
Avalanche went on a power play 10 seconds into the third period when Ducks
center Saku Koivu, playing in his
1,000th NHL game, went off for interfering with Paul Stastny. Erik Johnson
blasted a shot that got past Hiller, but Beauchemin cleared it before it
crossed the goal line.
Varlamov
turned aside 14 of 15 shots in the second period while Hiller stopped all 11
shots he faced. Hiller made a save against McLeod early in the period and did
the same against Jamie McGinn on a
2-on-1 break. Varlamov's best stop came against Selanne from the side of the
net while he was down.
McGinn
gave the Avalanche a 1-0 lead at 10:48 of the first period with his fifth goal
in the past five games. McGinn has five goals and two assists in seven games
since his Feb. 28 acquisition from Tampa Bay. His 17 goals and 31 points are
career highs.
McGinn
scored from the right faceoff circle after Hiller made a stop against
defenseman Jan Hejda, who took a shot from the left point. The Avalanche gained
possession of a long rebound and O'Byrne passed to McGinn above the faceoff
dot.
The
Ducks played without leading goal-scorer Corey
Perry, who suffered a right shoulder injury Saturday against Dallas. Perry
had played in 272 consecutive games.
