Mueller is Avalanche’s Masterton Trophy

It’s the annual award for the NHL player who best exemplifies perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey. The Colorado chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Association determined this nomination.
Mueller deserves this award because of the obvious perseverance he’s shown through two serious concussions in the last two years with Colorado. He never whined, never made things about himself. He just hung in there and worked to get back, and he has.
He also has quietly done some very good things in this community. Chief among them is buying tickets to every home game for military veterans, including some who have been victims of head trauma.
