The Colorado Avalanche announced on Wednesday that Boston College senior forward Paul Carey signed a two-year contract with the club.
The Colorado Avalanche won't be lifting Lord Stanley's Cup this June -- they fell seven points short of a playoff spot -- but they have brought in maybe the next best thing that they could: forward Paul Carey. The team announced on Wednesday morning that Carey signed a two-year entry level deal with the club; this comes just days after Carey helped the Boston College Eagles win the 2012 NCAA Hockey Tournament championship.
Carey will play for the American Hockey League's Lake Erie Monsters, who have two games remaining in the regular season.
Carey totaled 18 goals and 30 points as a senior for the Eagles, both career highs. The 23-year-old forward was the Avalanche's fifth-round selection during the 2007 NHL Draft.
