Wolski is heading to Poland

As we find out, negotiations with the Czech team of Ocelarzi Triniec was not successful. The coach Josef Turek did not want to acquire Wolski. As he said, he does not want to sign NHL players while he is not sure how the lockout will last. Even Wolski said that he would prefer playing in Poland instead Czech Republic. Then there were speculations of Wolski moving to KHL. However team from the Polish league KH Ciarko PBS Sanok took advantage of this unsure situation and started negotiations with the former Av. 

• Will Wojtek Wolski play for Poland?

How much would cost the bringing of Wolski to Poland? Well, team must have paid insurance – about 12 000 USD monthly. Wolski would get about 1 000 USD for each game and also have the guaranty, that when lockout ends he could get back to the NHL. Moreover, he would receive additions to salary – an apartment and a car. “Board of the directors agreed to a 3 month contract for about 30 000 USD. We only need to find money,” said Leslaw Wojtas, president of Sanok’s hockey company. “We would acquire both - great player and a lot of fans. It would be the excellent marketing and sports movement. If chairman of Sanok’s team find money, this 3 month contract for Wolski will be highly possible,” highlighted Wojtas.

In the Polish magazine specialized in rumors, Wolski said:  “I hope, this contract will be finalized in the next few days. I am already glad at the thought about it”.

How real is Wojtek Wolski's transfer to Ciarko PBS Bank Sanok?

I can only say that it is real. Everything is agreed and on track. Now move belongs to the other side.

How Wolski contract will be in force?

It is known that in the NHL is lockout and everyone states that the contract will not be longer than to the end of December.

Acquiring this player is undoubtedly the hit transfer in the Polish Hockey League. For you it is also a gain both in sports and marketing.

It is impossible to hide. Polish National Basketball acquired Marcin Gortat and there was "boom" on the basketball court. I think Wojtek is the player who will make the interest in hockey will be much higher in Poland, also from the media side. This is an investment that will affect only the good.

When we can expect Wolski in Sanok?

Wojtek will be in Poland until 5^th of October. Everything is agreed and he would like to see it that way. There could be an offer from another team which we will not be able to break. Undoubtedly, Wojtek wants to play in the Polish National Team and he wants to be here. He has dual citizenship [Canadian and Polish – edito´s. note], but unfortunately, the rules say that if he wants to play for Poland, he has to play two seasons in here. I hope that the first season will be in Sanok.
