Ruslan Salei would celebrate today

Ruslan Salei would celebrate todayIf the tragic event in Yaroslavl did not happen, a former Avs player would celebrate his birthday today.

Ruslan Albertovich "Rusty" Salei was born on 11/2/1974. So he would celebrate his 38th birthday today. Ruslan played totally 14 season in NHL, one season in the Russian Superleague (now KHL).

He tragically died among his teammates from Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, when their plane probably did not make starting maneuver properly and shortly after crashed.

Defenceman, drafted in 96 by Anaheim, played for Colorado Avalanche in years 2007-2010. What his internship concerns of, he was repeatedly injured and did not play much games for Avs. Belarusian went to Detroit after playing for Colorado, where he stayed for one year. Then he moved to Yaroslavl.

In his NHL career he played 917 games in which he gained 204 points for 45 goals and 159 assists. He played in Belarus representation 69 matches with great statistics 31 points for 13 goals and 18 assists.
