Monsters Get Shutout back to backMonsters were unable to score a goal in back to back games

In a high stakes series with the Abbotsford Heat for control of the North Division lead the Lake Erie Monsters fell short. The Monsters Lost both games on back to back night without even scoring a goal on the heat. The one goo note for the Monsters is neither game was lost until late in the third. They fought hard but could just not find the back of the net.

The first game of the series ended with a 3-0 loss. With only one goal beating Sami Aittokallio, the other two empty netters. Aittokallio was brilliant in the game making 36 saves on 37 shots. Heat goalie Barry Brust got the shutout making 29 saves. Both goalies played so well they were given the start the next night.

Game ended up much the same for Lake Erie being shutout and losing by a score of 2-0. Aittokallio once again played well for the Monsters making 18 saves on 20 shots. Heat goalie Brust stole the show two nights in a row with another 29 save shutout performance. The Monsters went into the two game stint with a one point lead over the Heat for the North Division lead. After the two losses they are now back three points from the Heat. The Monsters look to get back in the win column on Friday night as they face off with the Grand Rapid Griffins.
