Semyon
Varlamov has become the best goaltender of the last week in the KHL. If you
though it could have some bad impact on him, you are wrong. Varlamov played
another great game and he earned ANOTHER shutout. His KHL´s team, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, won 4:0 at the ice
of CSKA Moscow. Varlamov saved all 34 shots.
It was Varlamov´s third shutout in the season in his
12th game. His save percentage is 95.1 % (the best in the entire league) and GAA is 1.63 (2nd place in the league). He
won 9 of 12 games. Overall, Lokomotiv has won 9 straight games; Varlamov was in
the net in 5 cases.
The next Lokomotiv´s game is scheduled on Friday in
Prague, Czech Republic. Varlamov´s team will face Slovak franchise of HC Slovan
in Bratislava, Slovakia on Sunday. We
will be there and cover Varlamov´s performance via Live Coverage. We will keep
you informed.
The next positive news is that Gabriel Landeskog´s Swedish team of the 2-tier league, Djurgarden, has won the second straight
game, for the first time in a month. Djurgarden defeat Orebro 2:1, Landeskog
stayed without point. He has 9 points of 13 games in the league.
