Great news: Hishon is cleared to practice!
The Avalanche first round pick of the NHL Entry Draft 2010, Joey Hishon, has not played a game since the end of the season 2010/11, when he suffered a concussion after very ugly hit in the game of the Memorial Cup. Recent reports by Adrian Dater have brought some news finally after a long time of a silence. Dater received comments from the Avalanche vice-president Player Development/Minor League Operations Craig Billington on Hishon. According to his quotes, Hishon skates with the team, his status is day-to-day, but he is still not ready for the game participation.
Yesterday, on 24th December, was a
Christmas day in several European countries. The European fans of the Colorado
Avalanche have got the great gift. According
to several reports on Twitter, Hishon was official cleared to practice. It
means he can take a full participation at the practice like other players. We
can speculate if he will wear orange non-contact jersey or not, but it is
definitely perfect step forward. It is hard to say, when he will be ready for
games as the words concussion and uncertainty are best friends. But I believe,
he is on his right way and we could see him back this season.
