Duchene debuts at The Spengler CupThere were three Avs players in action on Wednesday.

Semyon Varlamov was in the net versus Avangard Omsk. His Lokomotiv lost the game 4:2. He stopped 34 of 37 shots. His teammates had only 15 shots. He played 15 games in KHL and gained 95 % save percentage, and 1,66 GAA. He added three shootouts.

Ryan O´Reilly played his 4th game in the KHL for Magnitogorsk. His team lost the game against Sibir Novosibirsk 3:5. Ryan was without point. He gained 
 four points for two goals and two assists in four games.

Matt Duchene played a debut game at the oldest international hockey tournament in the world of The Spengler Cup. He was held off the scoresheet. Team Canada surprisingly lost 1:2 in the overtime to the German team of Manheim. Duchene will be back in the action on Thursday. The Spengler Cup includes one national team (Canada) and five teams from Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Russia.

Paul Stastny is spending Christmas holiday in the United States. He missed Wednesday´s game and he will miss next two games in the elite German hockey league. Munich won the game against Augsburg 6:2. He will re-join Munich on 4th January 2013. He gained 18 points (7+11) in 12 games.
