Anze Kopitar scored three goals
in the Los Angeles Kings' 6-0 victory over the Colorado Avalanche in a
preseason game Wednesday night. Two of Kopitar's goals came in the second period.
Slava Voynov and former Avalanche player Brad Richardson also scored in the
second period for Los Angeles (2-1-2). Jonathan Quick stopped 27 shots including a breakaway
by Chuck Kobasew early
in the game to even his record at 1-1 in the preseason. Quick had six shutouts
in the regular season a year ago. Colorado goalie Semyon
Varlamov, an offseason acquisition from Washington, allowed
four goals on 14 shots in the second period. Colorado (1-3-0) was 0 for 6 on
