Millan Named CHL’s Goalie of the Week

The
Central Hockey League announced today that Denver Cutthroats goaltender Kieran Millan has been named the Oakley
Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending February 3,
2013.
The
rookie net minder earns the weekly honor for the second time this season (also
named top goaltender for the week of November 13-19) and he also earned the
honor of being named the Oakley Three Stars Player of the Month for November.
Millan
got back on track after winning just once since mid-December by beating the
visiting Bloomington Blaze on back-to-back nights. The first-year goalie combined to stop 75 of
78 shots (.962 save percentage) in the two victories.
On
the season, the Edmonton native is 11-9-2 with a 2.70 goals against average and
a .921 save percentage (tops in the league).
Millan is a fifth round draft selection of the Colorado Avalanche in the
2009 NHL Draft and is an assigned player this season to the Cutthroats from the
Avalanche’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters.
