David´s column on the last game

David´s column on the last gameA brief recap and a criticism of the Colorado Avalanche game against Nashville Predators.

Big criticism? Not today. I think the last night´s game was one of the best in the Avalanche season. Alone negative issue for me was penalties. Too many penalties. Mainly O´Byrne´s high stick. Poor guy, he has really bad year. Avs solved all PKs easily without allowing a goal. A defense, or at least its big part, worked perfectly. Varlamov was in his best in this season. Finally! He really needed it after few mistakes in the recent games. If d-men were not close, he could make a big save. Not only in even strength, also in all PKs. There was big difference between Avs´ and Preds´ number of total shots. It was caused due too many Avs´ penalties. But I am satisfied with the offensive plays too. They got a little space for their shots, not many minutes, but still created some chances. Their forechecking was perfect. Barrie? He is a new team star. He cannot be send back to the AHL. No more place for him there. Let´s pray for him. I hope they will not trade him on Wednesday.
