Avalanche Acquires Tomas VincourThe Colorado Avalanche traded defenseman Cameron Gaunce today to the Dallas Stars for forward Tomas Vincour.

Vincour will report to the Lake Erie Monsters, Colorado’s American Hockey League affiliate. The 22-year-old Vincour (full name pronounced TAW-mahsh VIHN-tsoh-oor) appeared in 15 games this season for Dallas, scoring two goals and adding an assist (three points).

The 6-foot-2, 204-pound center has scored seven career goals and has assisted on eight others (15 points) in his 86-game NHL career (all with the Stars). He has also accumulated 102 penalty minutes over the course of three NHL seasons.

Selected by Dallas in the fifth round (129th overall) of the 2009 Entry Draft, Vincour appeared in 47 games this season for the Texas Stars (Dallas’s AHL affiliate) where he scored 13 goals and 15 assists for 28 points. Vincour is one of only six players born in Brno, Czech Republic to skate in an NHL contest and one of only two to have 10 career points.
