The Game

The GameThis is a brief column about the game against Boston Bruins.

Phenomenal Varlamov. Genial Varlamov. Unbelievable Varlamov. The second game against the second strong opponent and goalies´ another great performance ended by shutout. Semyon did the best thing he could – he helped his teammates in the hard situations. However, not much has changed in our play. The same was with line-up. Our offense scored in the third period finally thanks to luckily shot. Yes, there were posts, chances, but this does not bring points. Bruins played like we, but were a half of step behind us. Duchene confirmed his leadership position. Kobasew surprised me most by few bright moments. The defense was solid. Hejda´s mistake from the Game 1 is in the deep past. When a puck came to the grease, it disappeared almost immediately. Players did not afraid of hard hits and shooting from the blue line. It was much better there than in the last season. In spite of a win, I am worrying about our offense. It needs more chances, not weak shots. I do not like team with defense, but without offense.
