The Game

The GameThis is a brief column about the game against Detroit Red Wings.

The first game of a new season was played at our ice against big rivalry team. Ceremony, memorial service and zero at the scoreboard after 60 minutes. The Avs entered the new season very bad. The first period was OK, but there were not accurate shots and passes. Offensive guys could not find each other and were disoriented. Their teammates from the other end of ice had “joined” them later. Home players could not make any combination or even create a goal chance. If there was someone, it had stayed unused. Varlamov was definitely our best player. We could see improvement in a defense, but still with mistakes. Landeskog did not help to our offensive ability and Mueller´s play below expectations. Nobody knows what he should do. If this would continue, I would welcome five losses in the next five games. And then say goodbye to Joe Sacco. Finally?
