ALERT: Avs Press Conference Today

Eurolanche was first media that reported about the Avalanche press conference for today. For now, we can just guess what is going happen. Look at the following three options:

1. There had been spread rumors about Joe Sakic´s promotion within the front office over the last days. Joe is currently an executive advisor for the team. After 2 years of that experience, he is ready for the next level. He could replace Eric Lacroix at the position of Vice President of Hockey Operations. Lacroix decided to leave it days ago.

Important part of the upcoming press conference is a presence of Stan Kroenke´s son, Josh. Personally, I do not remember when I saw some of Kroenkes last time at the Avalanche press conference. The presence of the owner or his son indicates we can expect more changes than just one promotion:

2. Is this the end of Pierre Lacroix? Possibly yes. Sakic could be the next president of the organization. Craig Billington, Vice President of Player Development, could replace Eric Lacroix.

3. What about Greg Sherman? Is his done too? Will be Sakic new general manager? Or it will be Craig? If yes, Pierre could announce this change at the management level. Has Pierre healthy issues as in the past and that is the reason why he cannot be at the conference? I hope not and he is OK.
