Reborn Colorado

We used to critize owners of Avalanche franchise a lot. Mainly cause
they seemed not to be very interested in the team nor the whole organization.
Now finally something has changed and boy, what an exciting changes there are!
First of all Joe Sakic was named as VP of Hockey Operations. Colorado
won in draft lottery number one spot to choose (for the first time in history)
and now, Patrick Roy became Avs head coach! So the premises are there, question
is: are these guys the ones that will help to win another Stanley Cup?
Only future will tell of course, however, both have long history in this
club. Both of them still lead majority of different individual statistics. And
most importantly, both love this club and are willing to do whatever it takes
to retain top spots where Avs belong to!
When Sakic announced he wants a new coach with NHL experience, Roy was
not the candidate number 1. After all, he hasn´t coached any NHL team yet, so I
am not sure why Joe even said this requirement. Anyway, Roy has 8 years
experience from QMJHL where he managed to win Memorial Cup and kept positive
winning balance. He is without any doubt a huge personality and now it depends,
how this team takes him. There have to be mutual respect and loyalty to club,
willingness to win and keep winning over and over again.
This all will be a tough job for Patrick, but if players believe in him
and believe that his style can actually work, we can all look forward to the
bright future again!
More on Roy´s history and achievements coming soon, so stay tuned!
