Vincour leaves the Avalanche

Vincour leaves the AvalanchePromising young Czech forward signed a contract with KHL team from Kazan, Russia.

Honestly speaking, this was a big surprise to me. Tomas Vincour decided to end his 6 years old career in the US and Canada and will play in KHL next season. Czech Center played in total of 88 NHL games and scored 16 points in them. He was traded during the past season from Dallas Stars to Colorado Avalanche (for Cameron Gaunce) for which he played in 2 games and managed to add one assist on goal.

Then was send to AHL team Lake Erie Monsters, where he shined amongst other players. His score sheet shows 11 points (6+5) in only 6 games played. With that in mind, we thought he was off to a good start and will remain in Denver, fighting for his chance in the first team. Sadly, that was not the case and as Vincour´s contract ended, he decided to come back to Europe.

We can only speculate, what is behind this decision, but truth to be told; we were all expecting a little bit more from him in NHL and so did he probably. His move to Europe is probably due to lack of NHL starts and to frustration that has been building up in him.

Vincour was selected by Dallas Stars round 5 #129 overall 2009 NHL Entry Draft and now will play for KHL team AK Bars Kazan.
