Holos leaves the Avs; is going to Europe

Holos leaves the Avs; is going to EuropeNorwegian defenseman Jonas Holos closed his chapter in the history of the Colorado Avalanche. He is another European player who failed to make a roster.

Holos, born in 1987, has become famous thanks to his speed and strictly defensive style in the national team of Norway. Colorado signed him in 2010 for two-year entry-level contract. Holos made the opening night roster and debuted in the NHL on 16th October. He played in 39 games, gained 6 points and in 17 games for the Lake Erie Monsters. He had health problems and lost his position in the first team.

Holos was trying to make the roster during the latest training camp. He failed and was sent down to the Lake Erie where he had not played any game. Then he decided to ask for release and end of his contract. The management agreed and Jonas is going back to Europe.

It is shame because he was talented player, but there was no place for him in these successful days of the Avs defense. Do not forget on young guns Stefan Elliott and Tyson Barrie. Eurolanche fanclub wishes to Jonas successful career in Europe and hope we will see him back in the NHL soon.
