The Colorado Avalanche's AHL affiliate Lake Erie Monsters signed deals with two young talented players. Mikael Tam is a 22-year old defenseman, native of Quebec, Canada. He played last season in the AHL for the Worcester Sharks and in the ECHL for the San Francisco Bulls. He also spent four season in the QMJHL with the Quebec Remparts. His statistics are: 19 games in the AHL (one assist), 37 games in the ECHL (12 points for 3+9) and 318 games in the QMJHL (140 points for 53+87).

Gabriel Desjardins is a 20-year old forward, native of Montreal, Canada. He only played in the QMJHL so his deal with Lake Erie is his first pro-contract. Last season he got 74 points (32 goals and 42 assists) in 66 games for the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. In the QMJHL he totalled
85 goals and 100 assist for 185 points in 297 games. In the playoff he scored 28 points (17+11) in 26 games.

Both players were not drafted by NHL teams and both deals were signed for one year.
