Denver Cutthroats sign first players

Sean Zimmerman has officially signed an agreement to join the Denver Cutthroats for the 2013-14 season. He played last season for the Cutthroats as a bruising stay-at-home defensemen with a plus/minus rating of plus 5 and 77 penalties.
Zimmerman was a vital part of a young defensive core. Assistant Coach Brad Smyth said, "We are pleased to have Sean return to the Cutthroats for the upcoming season. His leadership and competitiveness will be huge assets for the team."
Joining Zimmerman on the Denver Cutthroats 2013-14 roster is forward T.J. Fox. As a former member of the Texas Brahmas, Fox is a seasoned professional with a strong skill set. "T.J. is a versatile forward who brings a wealth of experience to the Cutthroats. His ability to play a strong two-way game will be a huge plus for the hockey club," explained coach Smyth. The signing of Fox and Zimmerman kicks off a busy off-season for the Denver Cutthroats, stay tuned for more information as the season approaches.
The Denver Cutthroats welcome forward Troy Schwab back for a second season. Schwab was second in points on the team last season, providing a potent offensive punch on a line with AJ Gale and Brad Smyth. “The organization is pleased to have come to terms with Troy Schwab. Troy is one of the top centers in the league who brings a strong two-way game to the team,” explained Cutthroats assistant coach Brad Smyth. “His passion and leadership will continue to make him a fan favorite.” Schwab tallied 81 points, scoring 21 goals and 60 assists.
Another familiar face returning to the Cutthroats for the 2013-14 season is forward JP Chabot. Always quick to answer the bell, Chabot passionately defends teammates while contributing in the offensive zone. Chabot collected 145 penalty minutes in 62 games, while contributing with 22 points. “His team-first attitude and ability to contribute on the powerplay will be counted on to help us have a successful season,” said coach Smyth.
A new addition to the Cutthroats for this season is Matt Glasser, a product of the University of Denver. A left wing born in Calgary, Alberta, Glasser weighs in at 185 pounds and 5 feet 10 inches. During his career at the University of Denver, Glasser played a total of 133 games and scored 21 points. He went on to begin his professional career with the Colorado Eagles and Geleen Smoke Eaters in Europe and returns to Colorado to skate for the Cutthroats. “The Cutthroats are excited to have Matt Glasser on the roster for the coming season. Matt brings very good speed to the lineup,” Smyth remarked. “He also has ties to the Denver area and will be a strong presence in the community.”
