Comeback win over the Jets

The game against the Jets starts out on a weird note. With the goal horn going off twice for the Avs with both was being premature. Not too long after the goal horn goes off for a third time and this time it counts. Matt Duchene gets his 9 goal of the season to tie a record with Joe Sakic and others for most in a month. Steve Downie and Ryan Wilson assist on the goal. Not too long after the Jets tie up the game with a goal by Bryan Little. The Jets get the first PP of the game. That Avs continue to be hot by killing it off for their 14^th PK kill in a row. The first ends tied 1-1.

After some back and forth play in second period the Jets get on the board to take the lead 2-1. The Avs have a very undisciplined period. Avs had to kill off 3 Jets PP. The second ends with the Jets on another PP to start the third.

Jan Hejda ties the game up in the third. Stastny and Tanguay with the assists. The Avs kill off another PK. Right after the PK the Avs get on the board to take a 3-2 lead. A great play by Tanguay to assist on a Stastny goal. Landy also gets an assist on the goal. The Jets pull the goalie with a minute to goal and the pace really picks up. The Avs hold on and win 3-2.

Some takeaways for me tonight. Not the best complete game for the Avs this season. A really good third period for the Avs out shooting the Jets 17-7. Varly not his best game let in one real soft goal. It should help people realize the Avs wins were more than just really hot goalies early.

Matt Duchene what more can be said about him. He has put on such displays on skill lately it just amazing he is so underrated league wide. He seriously is playing his way into everyone’s mind. It was really good to see Duchty and PAP together again. As good as ROR-Dutchy-Downie is and as well as McGinn-MacK-PAP looked early. Duchene and PAP just have it together good thing to have in the back pocket for Roy.

The Avs PK is 1st in the NHL and on a huge streak.  Be nice if the Avs took fewer penalties too. Guenin wear did you come from please don’t go. Tanguay why did you ever leave and please don’t leave again! On to the next one Go Avs go!
