Well, it had to end someday...
Just a few days ago I was sure of a number of things: death, taxes, Packers always winning and the Avs winning on the road. The first three are still there, death... well, let's not get morbid, taxes are there, I just received a notification to pay a lot of them, the Packers are still the only undefeated team in the NFL, with a 7-0 record (add to that that they finished with 6 straight wins last season), but the Avs just lost.

Postgame thoughts: Flames

Just a few days ago I was sure of a number of things: death, taxes, Packers always winning and the Avs winning on the road. The first three are still there, death... well, let's not get morbid, taxes are there, I just received a notification to pay a lot of them, the Packers are still the only undefeated team in the NFL, with a 7-0 record (add to that that they finished with 6 straight wins last season), but the Avs just lost.
The losing in itself it's not such a tragedy, their record is still great. What bothers me is the way they lost. Until the third period it's like they weren't even there. The Flames peppered Giguere with shots and he did a very decent job, but when you leave your goalie all by himself, goals will happen. And their first three goals were all caused by the Avs being out of position and not being able to stop the man with the puck. I think Kobasew and Johnson were some of those responsible. Kobasew, the guy that Sacco loves because of his effort, since the production is lacking. Well, Mr. Sacco, his mistake cost the team a goal. Will he be punished like Duchene?
Granted, Duchene isn't playing great. Then again, he never had a great season start. And if Sacco thinks that putting him on a line with McClement and McLeod will help his play, he's got another thing coming. I claimed that Duchene is selfish, but put him on a line with grinders and he'll be forced to do everything by himself. Talk about a self fulfilling prophecy...
I don't think this will end well for Duchene. Unless he magically emerges from this hole by himself, he'll be in Sacco's dog house for a long time. Remember the last guy that lived there, Liles? We all now how that went...
