Still no wins at home...
This winless streak will sure do miracles for the attendance in Pepsi Center, right? But I'm kinda glad it happened like that. Will have to see now how they do when they're losing, because it's easy to be in a winning team. Will they rally and get out of that semi-slump or will they fold like the last few years? With Sacco at the helm, my bet is on the later version, but what do I know? Apparently Sacco is a great coach, even if for me it seems his bag of tricks is pretty limited.

Postgame thoughts: Oilers

This winless streak will sure do miracles for the attendance in Pepsi Center, right? But I'm kinda glad it happened like that. Will have to see now how they do when they're losing, because it's easy to be in a winning team. Will they rally and get out of that semi-slump or will they fold like the last few years? With Sacco at the helm, my bet is on the later version, but what do I know? Apparently Sacco is a great coach, even if for me it seems his bag of tricks is pretty limited.
Speaking of Sacco's victims, I read some opinions that Duchene was better this game. I personally think he turned the puck over way too much. Maybe he doesn't have the right linemates, but still he can do better and simpler things. Anyways, punishing him when the team struggles to score is pointless and is getting ridiculous. The first line was again very good - yes, I called it the first line because that's what it is. There's no point in saying O'Reilly is centering the 3rd line when they are in fact the first one. So that's no sense in breaking it up. You can't "promote" Lando when he's already playing the 1st line, PP and PK. But I wouldn't put it past Sacco, so we'll wait and see.
Stastny-Hejduk-Jones are starting to click, the production isn't there just yet, but they had their chances. Not as many as the 40-19 shots total would make you believe. The Avs didn't dominate the game. The Oilers played smart and they seem to have a good plan in place. Just a day earlier they stopped Washington's streak. But they're also very young so we'll see how they fare down the road.
Well, after that small disaster in which the only good things were O'Reilly's 1st goal, seeing Ryan Smyth and the fact that Landeskog got away unhurt by Sutton's dirty hit, the Avs are facing the Kings. I'm anxious to see if I get to copy+paste disappointed comments from last year or if this time the guys can really play up to their skills. You don't want to know what my guess is right now...
