The Game

The GameThis is a brief column about the game against Los Angeles Kings.

Uh, oh, what a “game”! One of the most boring games which I have ever seen. Los Angeles outshot Colorado by the “Godzilla” difference, but it really did not look like it on the ice. I had a felling the game finished 5-5 on shots. Colorado, neither L.A., had not shown the effort for the full 60 minutes of play. Kings played back-to-back games, so I understand their fatigue. But at the other hand were well-rested Avalanche players. I respect our defense which played great game, but where were offensive guys? Did they want to play shootouts and finished game by 0:0? There was supposed to be tremendous attack with dozens of shots from the Avs side. But the reality was simple – players were in the fear to the last second of the game. The bonus came at the first period – two powerplays and one shot. And goals? Hejduk´s was very lucky. It was Varlamov´s worst game as the Avs. He had just so many rebounds like Budaj what is unacceptable. Except the defense, it was tragedy. Fortunately, with a happy end. What a contrast.
