Today, the Avalanche organization had three players in the World Championship action. Marcus Lauridsen played for Team Denmark, Reto Berra was in the net for Team Switzerland and Jonas Holos lead the defense of Team Norway.

Team Denmark with Lauridsen defeated Team Czech Republic after shootouts and earned important points in the battle for Quarterfinals. Lauridsen spent 11 minutes and 4 seconds on ice and recorded one shot on the net. The winning shootout was scored by Beodker.

Denmark - Czech Republic 4:3 SO (1:2, 0:0, 1:1, 0:0 - 1:0)

The game between Team Norway and Team France was really close for whole 60 minutes. The game was decided again in shootouts, where the French Team was luckier. Holos spent 32 minutes and 6 seconds on ice. He had 4 shots on the net and a -1 in +/- ranking.

France - Norway 5:4 SO (0:1, 3:1, 1:2, 0:0 - 2:1)

In the net for Team Switzerland was Berra. For about 50 minutes it seemed he could have a shutout, but late in third Kazakhstan scored two goals. He made 21 saves and had .913 SVS%.

Switzerland - Kazakhstan 6:2 (2:0, 2:0, 2:2)
