Patterson signs with Orlando

The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, announced today that they have agreed to terms with G Kent Patterson.
Patterson (6-1, 180 lbs.) was drafted in the fourth round, #113 overall, by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2007 NHL draft. He played two games for the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL) last season, going 1-1 with a 3.00 GAA and .902 save percentage. In 40 games with the Denver Cutthroats (CHL), he posted a 23-10-7 record with a .922 save percentage and 2.71 GAA. Patterson completed his rookie season in 2012-13, playing five games for Lake Erie with a 1-2-1 record, 2.55 GAA, and .907 save percentage, and 33 games for Denver going 14-10-6 with a 3.01 GAA and .910 save percentage.
A native of Plymouth, MN, Patterson played four seasons (2008-12) for the University of Minnesota (NCAA), posting a career record of 44-29-9 with a 2.46 GAA and .912 save percentage. In his senior season (2011-12), Patterson was the WCHA Goaltending Champion, a WCHA First Team All-Star, an NCAA Second Team All-American, and was named to the WCHA All-Academic team.
