Eurolanche celebrates 7th birthday

Eurolanche celebrates 7th birthdaySole Colorado Avalanche Fan Club was founded exactly seven years ago.

It was August 12, 2007 when the Eurolanche was founded. In that time nobody amongst the very first members could imagine the project would stay alive for the next seven years and become very successful – with no other similar project on the market. „The way the Fan Club went thru over these years is really incredible like also all events that we organized. I am most proud of all six trips to Colorado and a work of our active members. A situation in the Fan Club has been stabilized thanks to their work and generally everything is working without a problem,“ said a president and founder of the Eurolanche David Puchovsky. As of one day before the anniversary, 413 members of 34 countries from all over the world were registered in the Fan Club. Speaking about the statistics, it is necessary to mention a number of published stories. Since 2007 Eurolanche published more than 6 000 articles about the Avalanche hockey. Most of them have been posted since 2011, when the current website was launched.

Eurolanche organized six trips to Colorado under name Eurolanche Invasion. In total, 14 different members from four European countries could attend 35 Colorado Avalanche games in Pepsi Center and one of them in Minnesota. Besides the trips there were five members meetings and five meetings with the Avalanche players.

Many national and local media informed their audience about Eurolanche's success. The Fan Club appeared at the official Avs website, in Denver Post, in the biggest European NHL magazine Pro Hockey, at the website of the biggest Czech TV Nova and also in very popular Slovak weekly magazine Zivot. The most special moments have been always when the Eurolanche project was introduced on TV. Local Avalanche channel Altitude interviewed the Invasion participants for three times; another local channel FOX 31 broadcasted a report about the trip and finally a Slovak TV DIGI Sport aired a live talk show with the Eurolanche president for more than 20 minutes. Amongst other memorable moments in the media are also mentions when the Eurolanche became a source for world famous websites like for example Denver Post, NBC Sports, Yahoo Sports or a Slovak national news agency. Almost 50 exclusive interviews with current or former Avalanche players published at www.eurolanche.com have contributed to make Eurolanche the valuable source for these media. Any other fan website hasn’t a chance to talk with so many people involved in the NHL team. The list of all interviews in English transcripts is available at this link and all mentions of the Fan Club are here. Finally, editor-in-chief of Pro Hockey magazine wrote in of his editorial that the Eurolanche is the most sophisticated fan project.

This recap wouldn't be complete without a mention of the Eurolanche League that will continue in its five year of existence in the upcoming season. This „betting league“ will give a chance to all Eurolanche members to win Avalanche souvenirs. By the way, there have been dozens of options how to win the merchandise and we will continue in this trend. All important news from the Fan Club is always available at www.eurolanche.com and on Facebook and Twitter accounts. The official website was redesigned few times and the current version was introduced three years ago – there is no plan to change it for the near future. It is important to underline the fact the administrators regularly work on updates of the website and the internal system for reporters.

The activity of the Fan Club has been growing on the social networks and it has had an impact on number of daily visits of the website. „We are the most read fan website in Slovakia and Czech Republic thanks a hard work that we have done since 2011. I have no knowledge about similar projects than we are. I would like thanks for this success to the active members, members and our fans. I believe we will continue in this pace in the following years too,“ said David Puchovsky.
