Hejduk played in exhibition game

On August 30, exhibition game to honour legendary Czech ice-hockey coach Ivan Hlinka, who had died in car accident 10 years ago, took place in Jihlava. Teams Nagano and Golden Hattrick played against each other in so called “Golden Match”. Milan Hejduk, former captain of Colorado Avalanche, played for team Nagano.
Fans witnessed beautiful hockey game and lots of goals. Players came mostly to enjoy themselves and final score was 7:7. Hejduk played in second line with Robert Reichel and Martin Ručinský and together they scored three goals for their team.
It was Hejduk who started great comeback in the game. In the first half of the match, Milan Hnilička was protecting Golden Hattrick’s net and allowed no goal to keep score 4:0. Team Nagano had difficulty scoring but Avs sniper Hejduk broke Hnilička’s magic. In addition, Hejduk added two assists to his game stats.

Golden Hattrick roster: Hnilička (31. Salfický) - Pilař, Martínek, Buzek, F. Kaberle, Vykoukal, Benýšek, M. Štěpánek - Ujčík, Čajánek, Broš - Kucharčík, J. Hlinka, Vlasák - Varaďa, Šimíček, Tomajko. Tréneri: Josef Augusta a Vladimír Martinec.
