The Avalanche put forward Joakim Lindstrom on waivers. It is a sign that rookie defenseman Stefan Elliott will stay for the rest of the season with Avs. If no team claims the Swedish left winger for 24 hours, he will go to Lake Erie.

Lindstrom played a great first game with the Avalanche this season, scoring two goals but then he didn´t score in 15 consecutive games. Lindstrom signed a one-year contract with Colorado this summer, after leading the Swedish Elite League in scoring.

With E. Johnson likely to be activated later in the week, the Avs would have needed to trim a player from their active roster. Maybe Hunwick ?
