Lindstrom goes back to Sweden

Rather than accept an assignment to Lake Erie, after being placed on waivers yesterday by the Burgundy and Blue, Lindstrom is heading back to his native Sweden to pursue hockey employment there.
Lindstrom can’t say he wasn’t given a chance by Joe Sacco and Co. He spent plenty of time on the top two lines at left wing, along with playing the left point on the first power-play unit many nights. While the Avs’ power play has been good so far this season, it wasn’t much thanks to No. 28, who had two goals, five points and a minus-9 in 16 games, with 22 shots on goal.
His time with the Avs will be remembered for a great first game, in Ottawa in October, when he scored two goals in a 7-1 win over Craig Anderson and the Senators. He never scored again for the Avs, too often looking soft on the puck and not very good on defense.-- by Adrian Dater, Denver Post --
