Postgame thoughts: Bolts

Postgame thoughts: BoltsNew record winning streak at home.

First of all merry Christmas and happy holiday depression! I've been out of here for a while, because of Christmas related work - no, I'm not Santa Claus, I just had to work. As everybody knows, some of the Eurolanche boys are/were in Denver and as it's always the case with an Invasion, the team is winning. If the management were smart, they'd provide the Eurolanche with some season tickets and some plane tickets from and to Europe. I'm willing to sacrifice six months each year to insure the Avs are winning. Yes, that's the kind of generous and selfless guy I am. Feel free to admire me.
After that little self promotion, let's see what happened to the Avs in the last few games. Well, in some of them they proved that being lucky is better than being good. Case in point, Cody's goal against the Capitals, for one.

By the way, Cody has two goals in this home stand, his only two of the season. He saw much ice time and he gave the team more of what he should give: energy. I didn't particularly liked the fight with Hendricks, considering he was one of the guys everyone liked on the team a couple of years ago. At least Cody won that one, but still it felt weird. For me, not for Matt, for him it felt painful.

Another guy bringing a lot of energy is Galiardi or Galardi, as some "announcers" are calling him. TJ is fighting for every puck, his using his bigger body and he's good in offense too. Just like The Factor, the leader of the team. Forget about EJ or Duchene, this is your next captain right here. Once the Duke hangs up his skates, you can bet the C goes to O'Reilly. Or at least that would happen in a normal team.

This is it for now, I'm going back to celebrating through work, like in the old Soviet days. I promise the next games are going to get an in-depth, professional comment. From the guys at nhl.com, that is. From me you'll get the usual cheap jokes and pessimistic stuff.
