The Game
This is a brief column about the game against Winnipeg Jets.Everything has an end. This streak has to finish
sometime. Colorado ended the eight-game winning streak at home and totally
five-game wins games. It was its first loss of the Invasion IV. Hard to say
what did it – was it too much confidence or a fatigue from the last-night game?
Avalanche players could not create goal scoring chances in the first half of
the game. Then it finally came, but nobody except Porter could beat Pavelec. It
was kind of a game they would never win. The defense had more weak moments and
also Giguere was not so great that in the last time. Jets got the lead thanks
to them. Our opponent was worse than we. Colorado players favored this win to
them. I do not think here is right time to criticize Sacco. It was all about
players´ psychology tonight. Avs players did not play bad like in November, so
we should to find something other behind this game. I hope my words will confirm
in the next game against Phoenix.
