Iginla goes for 600th goal vs Sharks

Season series: Brent Burns scored two goals and Patrick Marleau had two assists to help the San Jose Sharks to a 4-3 win against the Colorado Avalanche on Nov. 1 at Pepsi Center. Tyson Barrie had two assists for Colorado.
Avalanche team scope (17-17-2): Colorado is playing its second game in as many nights following a 2-1 overtime loss against the Arizona Coyotes at Pepsi Center on Sunday. Forward Jarome Iginla is one goal shy of 600 in his career; he scored No. 599 against the Coyotes. "At the time, it felt great," Iginla said, according to The Associated Press. "One away. I thought I had some decent chances that could have been that one." Goalie Calvin Pickard is expected to start after Semyon Varlamov made 26 saves Sunday. Reto Berra is out with an ankle injury.
Sharks team scope (17-15-2): Forward Joel Ward practiced Sunday and will return to the lineup after missing the past two games because of an upper-body injury. "Obviously I wasn't out there running into guys, but I felt pretty good," Ward told CSN Bay Area. "I'm just excited that once I get going things will be OK, but I feel great." Forward Logan Couture (thigh) skated with his teammates for about 20 minutes Sunday, but there is still no timetable for his return. "It was a great, positive day today," coach Peter DeBoer said. "He was out on his own, then stayed out for a few drills with us. He's got full range of motion. We're taking some real good steps here. We played without him for a long time, and I just want to make sure when we get him back he's good to go."
