Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
And the Avs were lucky. If the disallowed goal would've been in the Kings goal we would've been screaming bloody murder. Admit it, we would've. And there were times when only luck and Varly saved the Avs. Be that as it may, the boys had their moments and scored the timely goal to tie it up and once we were in OT everybody knows Colorado doesn't loose. So they got the two points in a game where not many would've given them a lot of chances.

Postgame thoughts: Kings

And the Avs were lucky. If the disallowed goal would've been in the Kings goal we would've been screaming bloody murder. Admit it, we would've. And there were times when only luck and Varly saved the Avs. Be that as it may, the boys had their moments and scored the timely goal to tie it up and once we were in OT everybody knows Colorado doesn't loose. So they got the two points in a game where not many would've given them a lot of chances.
Meanwhile, the no. 3 Kings slipped down to 8, while the Avs begin to see the effect of all those games in hand the other teams have. Again, the Western conference is as tight as ever, with 5 points separating no. 7 from the 12th place. So with every point in high demand, the Avs are focused and even without Duchene they are getting the job done. But you can bet anything that scoring just one goal in regulation is not gonna get you too many wins. So they should consider themselves lucky and try a different approach next time.
Like not depending on the goalie so much. Or on just one guy named O'Reilly. Where is Stastny? He's disappeared exactly when he's needed the most. I like Paul a lot, I still remember his scoring streak in his rookie year, back when I was listening to the games on the radio. What happened to him? He's not getting it done for a while now. And it appears that trade rumors are starting to circulate, kinda like they did for Liles back when he was in Denver.
I don't want another 2nd round pick just because "nobody offered more", so they better keep Paul or not let "Greg from accounting" to the trade. I get a kick out of this "Greg from accounting" nickname, it fits him perfectly. Speaking of the team's managers, did you read Josh Kroenke's interview from a few weeks back? This is what I get from it:

I get a kick out of this "Greg from accounting" nickname, it fits him perfectly. Speaking of the team's managers, did you read Josh Kroenke's interview from a few weeks back? This is what I get from it:
- Avs' fans are spoiled because they already won the Cup twice,
- While Kroenke Jr. is working late for the basketball team's contracts, he "listens" to the crowd reactions at the hockey game. There you have it, the priorities. Working late for basketball, not even caring enough to watch the hockey games,
- There are things to be done about the hockey team and maybe they'll get to it sometimes later. If there's not a basketball game on. And if they'd just remember what those darn things are. It was something about spending... And a good coach... Neah, forget it, they just can't remember for the life of it.
Sorry for my little rant, I'm just displeased with the way this team is run. Also, if you think the current streak is on Sacco, thing again. It's on a few players that are looking professional and that are playing their hearts out: O'Reilly, Galiardi, Jiggy and a few more.
