Yes, even India has their national ice hockey team and mainly immigrants are trying to popularize this sport there. Winter sports aren't at the professional level in India since their national team isn't even listed in the international hockey ranking. 

Hockey pioneers are mainly foreigners. One of their groups appeared in a video wearing jerseys similar to those that Avs introduced last season as their alternative.
