Eurolanche finished its ninth season

The 2015/16 season saw the Eurolanche Fan Club achieve numerous achievements and gain new experience. Media from all around the world reported about the Fan Club, a record number of members took part in the Fan Club’s trip to Denver and Eurolanche.com achieved new heights as a media outlet. “I can say without hesitation that this was our best season ever. The most recent Invasion is proof that we offer Avalanche fans once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Aside from that, we got coverage from big media outlets like The Hockey News and NHL.com. For me personally, our biggest moment came when Jeremy Roenick interview us during the Stadium Series game as part of the live NBC Sports broadcast,” said Eurolanche President David Puchovsky.
Eurolanche’s ninth season kicked off with a spontaneous meeting with Marian Hossa, who knew certain Fan Club members from their previous visits to the Pepsi Center, where he played numerous games against the Avalanche. Hossa welcomed them in his own living room and also allowed them to spend several minutes with the Stanley Cup. Fan Club members met again a few weeks later, although in bigger numbers, as they attended a weekend organizational meeting related to the Eurolanche Invasion VIII. The Fan Club’s eight annual trip overseas exceeded all expectations. Its highest-ever number of participating members – 12 from five different European countries – guaranteed a unique program during the course of the whole trip.
“Every year, we try to outdo the previous Invasion. I am certain that we succeeded in doing that during the last trip. We attended a total of seven games, two of which were played outdoors. One of those games was the game between the Avalanche and Red Wings alumni, a number of which we even managed to meet in person, which was a memory that will last forever. Our trip to Las Vegas was fantastic and we’ll certainly go there again during the course of future Invasions,” said Puchovsky.
Another big part of Eurolanche’s ninth season was its news coverage not only on the Fan Club’s main website Eurolanche.com, both also on its sister sites Invasion.Eurolanche.com and StadiumSeries.Eurolanche.com, with the latter website being launched specifically for the Stadium Series game. The website covered the event with articles in a plethora of different languages. Thanks to the launch of the aforementioned sister websites, the Fan Club surpassed the mark of 1500 published articles during a single season, the most in its history, which amounts to five published articles on a daily basis. The coverage itself was also upgraded, as website visitors could now stream live videos recorded during the course of Invasion VIII thru the Periscope app.
Numerous competitions for Avalanche souvenirs and memorabilia were also part of the 2015/16 season. Eurolanche’s betting competition called Eurolanche League also returned for its sixth installment.
“Last season proved that there isn’t a single fan club, which operates on a level similar to Eurolanche anywhere on the market. It’s something to be very proud of, yet it also binds us to maintain our standard and improve it in the future. I believe that our upcoming 10th season will only prove it,” Puchovsky concluded with underlining the offseason meeting with Borna Rendulic in Croatia that was another key part of the finished season.
