Responding to your suggestions
You gave us your feedback and suggested several changes. Here’s the response from Eurolanche’s executive staff. From June until the first weeks of August, every member of the Eurolanche Fan Club had the opportunity to rate the fan club’s work and activities, or to make suggestions and ask any questions. More than 100 fan club members gave us their feedback. Also, every participating member automatically took part in a competition associated with them giving their suggestions. Kieran Lavelle from Great Britain became the winner of the grand prize – a signed poster of Nathan MacKinnon. He also contributed suggestions, which will serve Eurolanche as a platform to improve in the near future. Let’s take a look at some of your suggestions.
Suggestion no. 1: Cooperation with an Avalanche player, who would review every game via Eurolanche’s website
Answer: Sadly, considering how busy the players in the modern-day NHL are, it’s unrealistic. We did something similar with Jan Hejda in the past and we’ll try to get in touch with another player, but this is dependent on the goodwill of the other side, which we can’t influence in any way.
Suggestion no. 2: Our own video-articles
Answer: The author of the suggestion probably meant video blogs, as they are the only way of creating our own content. Currently, we don’t have a writer, who would have the time, or potential to do video blogs, but we are open to the idea and if someone thinks that he could do it, he can write us at eurolanche@eurolanche.com.
Suggestion no. 3: A registration system for commenting articles
Answer: We can confirm that we’re currently preparing a registration system for the entire web, which would also cover the comment section under articles. We’ll probably start to introduce the system to several parts of the web as soon as next season.
Suggestion no. 4: Our own e-shop
Answer: We’ve been considering the idea for an e-shop for some time now, but it’s something that’s quite difficult to create. We’re in touch with several suppliers, but it will probably take some time before we can realize our ideas. Once again, it’s something that depends on the other side and not on us. We don’t want to create our own e-shop, as we would rather cooperate with an existing one.
Suggestion no. 5: Publishing links to live game streams
Answer: All options to watch NHL games with the exception of TV or paid services (e.g. NHL.TV) are illegal, which is why we won’t be publishing any links to game streams and we won’t tolerate them in the comment section.
Suggestion no. 6: A bourse of Avalanche memorabilia
Answer: We’re currently considering this idea and we’ll probably start a bourse in some form during the 2017/2018 season.
Suggestion no. 7: More activities for European fans
Answer: We regularly organize several meetings for Eurolanche members. We’re currently preparing options to hold local meetings for those, who are too far away from Central Europe.
Suggestion no. 8: Improving the Eurolanche League
Answer: This is one of our current priorities and we’re working on improving it.
Suggestion no. 9: More interactions with fans during Invasions
Answer: Each year, we publish our plans for the evening in order for Avalanche fans from Denver to meet up with us at several points during Invasions. We’ll continue doing this in the future and we’ll be happy for you to join us at some point. All you need to do is to follow our Twitter account @Eurolanche.
Suggestion no. 10: More articles in English
Answer: We are aware that we’re currently not publishing as many original English articles as we should. Sadly, we currently lack the capacities to do so. Your help with articles in English, Slovak, Czech or any other language is welcome. In order to publish more articles in English, we would need to create a whole new writer section focusing on writing English articles. We hope that we’ll achieve this goal in the near future.
