Eurolanche enters its 10th season

Eurolanche enters its 10th seasonTo celebrate its 10th season in existence, Eurolanche will introduce a number of new features.

Eurolanche, the first European and the biggest Fan Club of the Colorado Avalanche, enters its 10th season in existence. This unique project will celebrate its 10th birthday next summer, which is why a number of new features will be announced during the 2016/17 season. One of the more visible features was the unveiling of Eurolanche’s anniversary logo, which will be used throughout the course of the season. “It’s unbelievable that we’re already entering our 10th season. During the past 10 years, we experienced unforgettable moments, be it in Denver during the Eurolanche Invasions, or during fan meetings in Europe. We’d like to thank everyone for their support. This is why Eurolanche will be introducing a number of new features,” said Eurolanche Founder and President David Puchovsky. “As part of our 10-year-anniversary celebration, we launched a new website – Story.Eurolanche.com, where we’ll concentrate on the entire history of the Fan Club. People from all around the world will have the opportunity to send us photos of them in Avs jerseys and with Eurolanche’s anniversary logo,” said Puchovsky.

Once again, the season’s main event will be the annual trip to Denver, the Eurolanche Invasion IX. As was already reported, the second highest number of members in history will participate in the trip – a total of 10 from four different countries. For the very first time, members from Hungary and Finland will take part in the event. The participating members will attend a total of seven Avalanche games, two of them being played in San Jose and Anaheim (for the first time, Invasion participants will attend two road games), which will be part of a four-day trip on the West Coast. „Invasion IX further proves that each trip is different from the previous one. The program of Invasion IX will be even better than that of the previous Invasion. The participation of 44 members during the past eight Invasions proves that the Invasions are really popular. On the other hand, it commits us to constant improvements with each passing year,” said Puchovsky, adding that preliminary registration for Eurolanche Invasion X, which will take place during the 2017/18 season, will be launched during the Invasion IX.

Eurolanche didn’t forget its European members, who couldn’t join the Fan Club during Invasion IX, as at least two weekend member meetings are planned for the upcoming season. Like in the past, various sports activities, NHL game tournaments and watching Avalanche games will all be part of the aforementioned meetings. Eurolanche will also organize meetings with current and former Avalanche players. Members will be notified about these meetings in advance.

The meetings will culminate in summer 2017, when Eurolanche will hold its biggest member meeting in history between August 10 and 13, as the Fan Club will celebrate its 10th birthday on August 12, 2017. A number of fans from Colorado will also take part in the meeting, while a number of players will also receive invitations. Various competitions for souvenirs and memorabilia, along with an attractive program will also be a part of the meeting.

During the course of the season, Eurolanche will be publishing a brand new type of articles. The first group will introduce selected Eurolanche members and their interesting life stories, while the second group will focus on memorable moments from the Fan Club’s history.

The Eurolanche League will also return for its seven installment, bringing participating members the chance to win attractive prizes. As part of a new feature, fans will have the opportunity to rate each player after every Avalanche game. At the end of the season, Eurolanche will announce the season’s MVP based on the ratings of Eurolanche.com readers.

The 10th anniversary celebrations will be highlighted by the publishing of a book about Eurolanche, which will be published in late 2017 in both Slovak and English. The book will introduce readers to the entire history of the project, along with a number of previously unpublished memories and stories from Eurolanche Invasions.

As of October 14 of 2016, Eurolanche had a total of 641 registered members from 39 countries. More than six thousands of fans follow Eurolanche on Facebook, Twitter and Periscope. Eurolanche has organized eight Eurolanche Invasions, with 44 members from six countries taking part in the trip. They’ve attended 49 games, two of them being road games.
