Owen Nolan expected to announce retirement tuesday in San Jose.
Owen Nolan is expected to announce his retirement from the NHL after 18 seasons at a press conference in San Jose on Tuesday.
The 39-year-old Nolan played in 1,200 career games in the NHL, recording 422 goals and 463 assists. Nolan also played in 65 career playoff games, racking up 21 goals and 19 assists.
The five-time NHL All-Star also won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
Nolan last played in the league during the 2009-10 season with the Minnesota Wild.
The first-overall selection in the 1990 draft attempted a comeback this fall, signing a professional contract with the Vancouver Canucks. Nolan had a goal and an assist in three pre-season games with the Canucks before he was cut. Nolan last played competitively with Zurich of the Swiss League in 2010-11.
