The 2017 IIHF World Championship continued with the second game day, with a total of 6 games being played. Only two players from the Colorado Avalanche were in action today, as both Gabriel Landeskog and Carl Soderberg faced off against the tournament’s co-hosts from Germany.

The Swedes were looking to rebound from yesterday’s shootout loss against Russia with a win against co-hosts Germany. The Germans were more than solid throughout the first two periods, but surrendered a goal with three seconds remaining in the second period. Germany then fell apart in the final stanza, allowing three more goals. Gabriel Landeskog scored a goal and added two assists, while Carl Soderberg tallied an assist on Landeskog’s goal.
