2017 IIHF Worlds: Day 11

Only two Avalanche players saw game action on the eleventh game day of the 2017 IIHF World Championship in Germany and France – Nathan MacKinnon and Matt Duchene squared off against Norway. Goalie Calvin Pickard was only in the role of Chad Johnson’s backup, while Andrei Mironov wasn’t in Russia’s lineup for their game against Latvia.

Canada secured the top seed of Group B with a decisive win against Norway and will face either Latvia or Germany in the quarterfinals. Nathan MacKinnon continued his dominant form at this year’s tournament with three assists and remains in the race for the tournament’s top scorer with 11 points. Matt Duchene continues to struggle, as he’s still waiting for his first point at this year’s tourney. Calvin Pickard was given a rest, as Chad Johnson was given the start in the Canadian net.
