Quincey for Downie

Quincey for DownieKyle Quincey was traded to Tamba Bay for Steve Downie and then to Detroit Red Wings for the first round pick.

Downie, 24, has tallied 12 goals and 28 points (12g/16a) with a team-high 121 penalty minutes in 55 games for the Lightning this season.  The Newmarket, Ontario native ranks fifth on the club in both goals and points (tied), and is fourth in shots. He ranks second on the Lightning with 36 takeaways.

Selected by Philadelphia in the first round (29th overall) of the 2005 Entry Draft, Downie has appeared in 252 career NHL games, collecting 124 points (53g/71a) and 638 penalty minutes.  He scored 22 goals for Tampa Bay during the 2009-10 regular season (22g/24a in 79 GP) and helped the Lighting reach the 2011 Eastern Conference Finals by posting 14 points (2g/12a) in 17 playoff games last spring.
